The Beach House

February 13, 2012

Hi everyone,
It was so nice to see everyone at the Blu Fig.  We missed those of you who couldn't attend.  We had a special visitor, all the way from Puerto Rico....Diana.  Thanks so much Diana  for making time to join us. I was glad The Beach House was light reading and touched on so many real life situations.  The night turned out to be a social gathering, which was so needed!!  We shared our points of view on our favorite characters and their dilemmas.  Life had many turns for each character, but the good thing was there was a happy ending for everyone.  Nice to read a book where things turned out for the best.  I hope you all enjoyed the book and thanks for sharing!  Look forward to our next gathering.  It really is so great to meet everyone at a restaurant where we can all relax!
Best Wishes always,
Millie

  1. I loved meeting at the Blu Fig and discussing the book. Although while I was reading the book, I thought it was very predictable, I was definitely surprised by Nan's husband showing up in the end. The way the author wove all the stories of the characters and had them all interconnected was not entirely believable - and I guess that's why it's called FICTION! Anyway, the food and the company was outstanding. Having Diana and Miggy there at the same time was a treat, and your treat of thin cranberry almond cookies you served to us was a delicious ending. How lovely to have a happy ending for all in the book, and for us bookworms too! Thank you, thank you!

  2. Hello fellow book worms,
As always we had a lovely time together. It was really nice having Miggy and Diana with us. It felt like earlier times. Of course those that couldnt make it were missed.
Thank you Millie for hosting and for your special touches. The book was a light read, a bit refreshing from our previous books. It was predictable, but I have to say I was surprised too by Nans husband's return. I think it is great that we have read a variety of books. You all make the book club meetings enjoyable, fun thought provoking even with our light reads.
I appreciate all of you and look forward to our next time together at the Blu Fig again. We all seem to enjoy it and it's close and most importantly, good food!,
    Take care,
    Mary
