Our December meeting was small and intimate. We missed those who couldn't make it.
Well, we certainly got to the Heart of the Matter! The common concensus was that Nick took advantage of Valerie. We discussed Adultery, and Tessa's and Valerie's point of view.We all wished the author would have included Nick's point of view. We also discussed the difficulties Valerie and Tessa had fitting into there social circles. Everyone seemed to enjoy the book . We wish everyone a Happy and Healthy Holiday!!!!!!

Hi Yvette and Millie,
ReplyDeleteThe book, and the discussion, was great! Thank you for being such lovely hostesses. You even started Steve and I on a discussion at home. I intend to read some more Emily Giffin books after this.
XOXO

Hi Yvette and Millie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting our last book meeting with lots of delicious munchies! Yum!
About the book...I really enjoyed reading and discussing it. It stirred up some interesting discussions about marriage, infidelity, and other such topics which I don't think we ever talked about. One thing this book reminded me is that you need to fill happy and fulfilled yourself, before you can make others happy. Makes sense right? Looking forward to our next meeting next year. Spending time with my book buddies is one the highlights of my month! Wishing everyone a happy, peaceful and healthy new year!
Love you all...................Maria P.
Hi Yvette and Millie and our fellow bookworms,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the delicious treats and for suggesting this book. It was an enjoyable read and provoked heated discussions on relationships and one of the biggest breakers of marriage, infidelity. We all shared how we would feel if...but I think we all understood the beauty and gift of forgiveness.
I can't agree more with Maria that our monthly bookclub meetings is truly an event that brings me joy. I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday. I pray for a happy and healthy New Year .
Take Care,
Mary
